A basic electrical transformer is commonplace in many manufactured goods which includes your forced air system as it is used to convert electrical output from a particular voltage to a different one. Heating and cooling transformers could have a certain criteria and they should follow strict electrical requirements. If you are going to replace a transformer, make sure to get one that is measured to the right voltage that is necessary.
