The reason limit switches exist is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. A normal limit switch contains a sensor in the air handler that determines if and when the air is warmed to a point for the blower to be activated.
Clues to watch for to know limit switch is on its last leg
- The LG system starts to go through the startup sequence but stops quickly more than once
- The heating and cooling system refuses to start or will not stay running like it should
