A transformer is used for many products which also includes your heating system and it converts the electrical output from 120V to 24V, for example. Transformers are specialized components so make sure you meet the voltage and amperage needs. When you replace one, make sure to get one that is rated for the voltage that will be needed by the system.
Major symptoms your LG transformer is dead
- The volt dropping transformer looks like it is ready to fall apart or maybe smells burnt while electricity is running through it
- Extremely low voltage gauged exiting the transformer block while using a voltmeter
- Incorrect voltage can be measured from the output of the transformer
