LG LP1415GXR Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a special kind of new age resistor whose rated resistance is altered by the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. The heating and cooling system reads the temperature in certain areas to make a decision on what needs to be done. They tell the system control board when a temperature reaches a certain point.
How can I tell if my thermister really needs to be replaced?
- The system may not even start due to any one thermistor that is the problematic one
- The main fan refuses in the attempt to ramp up the airflow
