The unit filter has the basic duty of trapping really small dust parts and other unwanted bits from the inside air inside the home. The filter can both keep the unit dust-free and make it run much more efficient while also cleaning the air in your home. During regular maintenance the unit filter must be swapped out for a new one or cleaned a few times a year depending on how much you use it.
How do you know if your primary air filter is failing?
- When you hold the filter up to the light, it will not shine through a completely clogged filter
- The main filter looks like it is filled with dust and should be replaced real soon
- It is recommended to swap out your air filter every three months to help clean the indoor air
