The filter in the wall unit is there for filtering minute dust particles and other tiny bits from the air in the house. The filter can both keep the unit dust-free and make it operate more efficient while also cleaning the air breathe in and out everyday. Due to the amount of dust in the house, the filter should be simply replaced or possible scrubbed clean at least twice a year if not more, depending on how much you use it.
Clues of an ailing filter
- It is highly suggested to switch out the air filter in your unit about every three months to help purify the air indoors
- The filter looks dusty and replacing it would be best as soon as you can
- If you place a light source behind it, the light is unable to breach the other side of a dirt-packed filter
