The main fan blade produces a strong flow conditioned air from the heating or cooling system. Along with blowing air out, it also takes air in which provides assistance in keeping the main unit cool and not overheated while it is performing its duty.
Some clues your fan will have to be replaced
- The fan blade in the unit refuses to circulate a large amount of air in order to change the temperature
- The main fan blade appears broken down or perhaps worn and in terrible shape
- The wall unit fan blade causes a whine noise when it is creating an airflow
