The flame sensor is an important feature that will consistently detect the proper flame while the system is starting. As expected, if the flame sensor gets set off the furnace cannot start again until the problem is repaired.
Warnings of a declining flame sensor
- The gas furnace is unwilling to even begin to start and spits out an error code on the main board
- The gas refuses to begin igniting and the control shows an error
- The heating system will run sporadically barely
