A transformer is a regular occurrence in most things electrical including your HVAC system as it changes a normal current of electricity and switches it to a different voltage range. Transformers may have specific specs and they should follow strict volts and amps requirements. If you have to replace a transformer, it would be a good idea to buy one that is rated for the correct voltage that will be needed by the system.

- The transformer shows cracks or fractures or could smell like its burning when it is in use
- Inaccurate voltage is measured coming from the chief transformer
