Lennox 12CHP048 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is responsible for keeping the compressor cool, because as the compressor gets hot the heat energy has to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. It can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this tends to make installing it easier and will reduce the costs you need to pay. Please make sure the new motor has the proper voltage and the same amps as it is on the bad motor.
Clues of a poorly performing cooling fan motor
- A disturbing grinding noise while the cooling fan is just starting
- The cooling motor begins to smoke or sparks while it tries to spin
- The Lennox motor does not move at all
