The fan motor has a specific duty of keeping the compressor cool, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat that needs to be driven away. Just make sure you find one with the correct voltage and the same amps as it is on the bad motor. The motor can be replaced without needing to replace the fan blade, this makes installation simpler and it is something you can do yourself.
