Lennox CB28UH-024 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor has a unique job of keeping the compressor cool, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat that needs to be dispelled into the air. Just make sure you buy a replacement motor with the voltage that is the same and correct amp current as on the current fan motor. The motor can be replaced without needing to replace the fan blade, this results in an easier installation and a little less costly, as well.
Key symptoms of a failing fan motor
- You may hear grinding sound when the motor starts or stops
- The Lennox motor fails to spin at all
- The main cooling motor smells burnt or sparks when it begins to turn
