This heat element causes the air to be heated up prior to the blower having it dispersed all around the home. Your furnace will not create enough heat for the whole home if your heating element is somehow defective.
Some warnings of a worsening main heat element
- Heating element appears old-looking, quite rusty and in rough shape
- Heat is not being delivered by the main system at all
- The heat element has difficulty in its ability to heat up at all due to being worn out
