Lennox Elite Series Limit Switch
Limit switches exist due to the fact that if the air never warms up inside the exchanger the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. The limit switch is a type of sensor switch located in the furnace that determines when the heated air is warmed to a point so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents.
Red flags main limit switch is going out
- The system starts to become inconsistent from time to time
- The heating and cooling system will not begin the ignition sequence or run longer than 10 minutes
