A limit switch was crafted due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. A normal limit switch has a sensor in the air handler that senses, or governs, when the heated air is warmed to a point so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents.
Warnings critical limit switch will not live much longer
