The defrost sensor board determines when or if to start an important defrosting cycle in order to rid your unit of frost that can build up. The board looks to a specific sensor which is near the condenser somewhere, in order to determine when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
Red flags your outdoor defrost sensor board is on its last leg
