All air filters are made in lots of types and sizes, depending on your desire for cleaner air and air handler size requirements. The height, length and width of the air filter can not be a choice you make due to the constraint of the availability of room of whoever designed your heating and cooling system. It is recommended that the air filter is exchanged for a new one every 3 months due to the filter clogging up and restricting the flow of air through the ducts.
