The defrost control board initiates an important defrosting cycle if necessary, to rid your unit of frost that can build up. The control board looks to a specific sensor located somewhere by the condenser to verify when the defrost cycle should begin.
Major signs of a weak defrost sensor board
- The defrost feature does not run even though there is a lot of frost in the way
- The system may not operate for the simple fact of the fact that there is too much frost
- The main board could display an error of some type produced by too much frost
