A basic electrical transformer is a simple device used in a wide variety of products which also includes your heating system and it converts electricity from one voltage to another. If any transformer needs to be swapped out, be sure to purchase a transformer that is correctly rated for the exact voltage that will be demanded by the device. Heating and cooling transformers can all be different so be sure you replace it with the same amps and voltages needed.
Indications of a deteriorating Lennox transformer
- Many different volts is found from the output of the main transformer
- Transformer seems damaged you might notice sparking while the system is turned on
- No power analyzed departing a main transformer block while being tested
