Lennox G71MPP Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is a regulatory sensor that senses the acceptable flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. Due to the overall safety issue, when the flame sensor gets triggered by something the entire HVAC system will stop until the main issue is remedied.
Clues of a bad primary flame sensor
- Your gas furnace is unwilling to produce any heat and will shut everything down
- System runs occasionally at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
- The propane or natural gas has problems trying to burn and closes down
