Lennox HP13-048 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is responsible for cooling the outdoor compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat energy has to be driven away. Just make sure you are able to buy one with the voltage that is the same and the same amps as it is on the bad motor. The motor can be replaced on its own as this will reduce install time and will not drain your bank account.
General indicators that your the condenser fan motor needs to be replaced
- The compressor cooling motor catches fire or shorts out as it turns
- A specific grinding noise when the cooling fan is starting
- The Lennox cooling motor tries but fails to turn at all
