Lennox HP40-048 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a special kind of new age resistor whose rated resistance is solely dependent on temperature at its location. The system control board needs to know the temperature in several different areas to make sure everything is running smoothly. They tell the system control board when the temperature reaches a certain point.
Important signs the temp-regulating thermister will not live much longer
- The system may not even start depending on which is the thermistor that has failed
- Blower fan fails in its attempt to begin full speed blowing
