Air Filters come in many types and sizes, which depends on your particular desire for cleaner air and air handler size requirements. Measurements of the filter is not a choice you make because it is based on the declared size of your furnace or handler. It is highly recommended that the filter that filters out particles from your home is replaced for a clean one every 3 months due to the filter clogging up and restricting the flow of air through the ducts.
Important clues to an under performing main filter
- The system filter looks gray or brown and it would be a good idea to replace it as soon as humanly possible
- It is greatly advised to swap out your air filter every season of the year in order to keep the air free from too much dust
- When you face it toward a light, the light is unable to permeate to the other side of a very dirty air filter
