The fan motor on the compressor has a unique job of cooling the compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat energy has to be dissipated. It is critical that the new motor has the correct voltage listed and the correct amp listing as it is on the current motor. The motor can be replaced solely on its own, this makes replacing it a lot easier to do and make it a probable DIY project.
Major signs of an ineffective cooling fan motor
- The compressor cooling motor catches fire or sparks when in use
- A disturbing squeaking sound when the cooling fan is starting
- The Lennox cooling motor tries but fails to turn at all
