The heating element causes the air to be heated prior to being spread throughout the house. Your furnace will not create nearly enough heated air for an entire house if the heat element will not work right.
Some warnings the heating element will need replacing
- Heating element can not get hot or get hot enough due to being worn out
- No heat is being supplied by the main system at all
- The element looks eroded, dented and about to fall apart
