A thermistor is a special kind of new age resistor which has a resistance that depends on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. They convey to the system control board when a certain temperature reaches a certain point. The furnace or AC reads the temperature in some specific areas of the system to be sure everything is going well.

- Blower fan could never begin in the attempt to ramp up to full speed
