Lennox HPXB15-030 Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board instructs the outdoor unit to begin the defrost cycle which may be needed in order to get rid of the frost that collects on the outdoor unit. The control board is relayed information from a specific sensor located near the condenser to agree when to begin.
Signs of a deteriorating AC defrost sensor board
- The defrost feature will not kick in even though there is a lot of frost on the outdoor unit
- Air conditioning may not work for the fact of frost blocking the fins on the outside unit
- The HVAC system control board may issue an error code if the defrost board goes out
