A basic electrical transformer is used for many products which also includes your heating system as it usually converts electricity to a different voltage, 120V to 12V, for example. If you are going to replace a transformer, make sure to purchase on that is measured to the right voltage so that you get an exact match. Heating and cooling transformers can have different specs so make sure you meet the necessary voltage readings.
