Lennox XC16 Limit Switch
The reason limit switches exist is due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool then the house will never get warm enough. A normal limit switch is a type of sensor switch in the heat exchanger that makes the determination when the air is warm enough that it can be circulated throughout the house.
Some clues limit type switch has little life left
- The HVAC system will not begin the ignition sequence or will not stay running longer than a minute
- The Lennox system starts to behave differently on a regular basis
