Lennox XC16 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a certain type of resistor whose rated resistance varies depending on the current temperature. They tell the heating and cooling system when a temperature has been reached. The control board must know the temp in several different areas to make a decision on what needs to be done.
Signs of a declining all-important thermister
- The whole system may not initiate the starting sequence due to a problematic thermistor
- Blower motor may refuse in its attempt to engage full speed
