Lennox XC17 Expansion Valve
Every air conditioning system contains an expansion valve that lets the coolant to expand back to its low-pressure vapor state from its highly pressured liquid form. An air conditioner would be worthless when lacking a functioning expansion valve.
Major signs the expansion valve should need replacing
- Your AC takes too long in a bid to cool
- The air conditioned air is much warmer than it should be exiting the air handler
