Lennox XC21-036 Limit Switch
A normal limit switch is a switch located in the furnace that senses, or governs, when the heated air is warmed to a point to activate the main blower. The main reason limit switches are made is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, then the house will never get warm enough.
Subtle cues of a dying main limit switch
- The system is beginning to shut down unexpectedly more often than not
- System refuses to kick in or run well longer that five minutes
