A thermistor is a thermal resistor, whose resistance is directly proportioned to heat. They can tell the system when a temperature in increasing or decreasing. The HVAC system takes the temperature in certain areas to do its job as it should.
What symptoms are present when the temp regulating thermister is almost dead?
- The heating and cooling system may not initiate the starting sequence because of any damaged thermistor
- Blower motor may fail in the attempt to ramp up
