This heat element allows fresh air to be heated up before the blower has it scattered all around the home. Your furnace cannot possible make enough heat for an entire house if your heat element goes bad.
Key clues of a poorly working primary heating element
- Element looks terrible, broken and looks like it should be replaced
- Lack of heat delivered through the system for an extended period of time
- The heat element does not heat up or reach the desired temperature because it is probably worn out
