A very basic thermistor is a thermal resistor, whose rated resistance is solely dependent on thermal temperature. The main control board deciphers the temp in several different areas to do its job correctly. They can tell the main board when a certain temperature reaches a certain point.
Key signs of a worsening thermister
- The entire system may not function depending on which is the problematic thermistor
- Primary blower may fail to begin to ramp up to full speed
