A thermistor is a thermal resistor, whose resistance changes as it depends on heat. They inform the HVAC system when a temperature has been reached. The control board needs to know the temperature throughout the whole system to ensure that things are as they should be.
Major warnings to watch for in a bad Lennox thermister
- The blower could fail to begin to begin full speed blowing
