The blade attached to the fan motor for the outdoor portion of a split system is directly in charge of dissipating the massive amounts of heat that the system releases. Most fan blades are rugged, but sometimes they can fail out of nowhere due to children, animals, or even mother nature herself.
What to see if the blade is about to stop working?
- Blade looks potted or damaged due to being exposed to mother nature
- The edge of the blade is notched or disfigured in some way
- The whole blade is out of balance as it spins as the system instructed
