The defrost sensor board will determine when to initiate the defrosting phase if necessary, to rid your unit of frost that can build up. The defrost board looks to a defrost sensor located somewhere by the condenser to determine when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
Major warnings the defrost sensor board has very little life left
- Your system could end up not running because of frost blocking the fins on the outside unit
- The control board could throw a type of error code referring to a failing defrost control board
- The defrost sequence refuses to run despite that there is a large amount frost in the way
