A flame sensor is one that can reliably detect the exact flame when the system starts. As you could guess, if the sensor get triggered the entire HVAC system will stop until the problem is fixed.
Major symptoms your safety flame sensor will have to be replaced
- LP or natural gas has difficulty trying to start an ignition sequence no matter what
- Your gas furnace refuses to produce heat at all
- The heating system will operate infrequently only after the second full moon of the month on a Tuesday
