A flame sensor is only used on furnaces that burn gas and is one that will consistently detect the proper flame while the system is starting. As you would probably could have guessed, if the sensor get triggered everything stops until the problem is dealt with.
Major signs the NewAir flame sensor is not going to last much longer
- The gas supplying the furnace will not even try to start an ignition sequence and the whole system shuts down
- Your gas furnace is unwilling to fire up and completely shuts down
