The purpose of the ignition control board is that it keeps an eye on gas intake, the ignition timing and some more sensing equipment. The ignition control board was always an important electronic safety board that some manufacturers have decided to blend to be a part of the main control board instead of its own individual board.

- The ignition cycle refuses to commence even when the thermostat kicks it on
