A flame sensor is a safety device that senses the proper flame in accordance with the initial ignition sequence. As with most devices used for safety reason, when the flame sensor is activated everything remains shut off until the problem is repaired.
General warnings of a barely functioning safety flame sensor
- The unit will sort of operate rarely when the time is right
- LP or natural gas will not even try to burn and shuts itself off
