Nordyne M2RL-060A Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor is in charge of cooling the compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat energy has to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced on its own as this results in a simpler type of replacement and a little less costly, as well. Just make sure you buy a replacement motor with the voltage that is the same and the same amps as it is on the current motor.
Simple signals the condenser fan motor needs to be replaced
- The compressor cooling motor catches fire or throws sparks when it is spinning
- The Nordyne cooling motor does not move at all
- An unknown rubbing or scraping sound when the motor is stopping
