Nordyne M3RL-080A-BW Limit Switch
A normal limit switch is a switch in the air handler that makes the determination if and when the air is actually warm enough for the blower to be activated. The reason limit switches exist is due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
What signals that my limit type switch really needs to be replaced?
- System refuses to kick in or run well even though the desired temperature has not been attained
- The whole system is starting to run inconsistently on a regular basis
