The control board is created to control the gas valve, the igniter, all the various sensors and the blower all together. The brand of board you choose should have part numbers that match both the make and model of your Nordyne P5RF unit. You must do some research while searching to pick up a replacement control board due to so many small differences in brand and air handler types.
Major symptoms of a weak main circuit board
- The control board has to be powered down and back up repeatedly for the system to operate once again
- System declines to work properly
- There seems to be a fault code displayed on the front of the control board
