Panasonic CU-XE12PKUA Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a special kind of new age resistor that has a fluctuating resistance that is solely dependent on current temperature. The control board needs to know the temperature in a few critical areas to be sure everything is going well. They can tell the circuit board when a certain temperature reaches a certain point.
What happens when my main thermister is almost going bad?
- The system may not function depending on which is the thermistor that is stuck open
- Primary blower could refuse in the attempt to engage full speed spinning
