Payne PA10JA024000AA Ignition Control Board
The main reason to have an ignition control board is that it checks the main gas intake valve, the ignition ignitor and other safety devices built into the system. The ignition control board was always an important safety feature that, over the years, has merged to become a vital part of the main control board instead of its own individual board.
Red flags the major ignition board is going out
- Every other problem within the furnace is inspected and seems to be problem-free
- The electrical signal from the remote thermostat does not show up at the control board
- Initial sequence does not initiate when called upon
