A conversion kit allows a furnace to switch energy sources from a single source of energy to something different, such as from oil to electric or the other way around. Energy conversion kits are not available for all furnaces. They can only be purchased for particular ones that are designed with converting in mind. If a conversion kit is made for your model system you should consider having it installed by your local HVAC guy, for obvious safety reasons.
