Payne PA1ZNA048000AAAA Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is only found on gas furnaces. It is a sensor that can reliably detect the exact flame upon ignition. For obvious reasons, when the flame sensor is activated the system remains completely shut down for as long as the problem remains.
Major clues of a laboring furnace flame sensor
- The LP or natural gas will not even try to begin an ignition sequence and the system throws an error code
- System will operate occasionally but only on the third Wednesday of on months beginning on Thursday
- The heating system cannot begin operations and spits out an error code on the main board
