Payne PA2PNB024000AA Flame Sensor
A flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that will consistently detect the flame when igniting the system. Because of the safety issues involved, if the sensor produces an error the furnace cannot start again until the problem is dealt with.
How can I tell if my furnace flame sensor really needs to be replaced?
- Your system will not ramp up at all
- The whole system will sort of operate infrequently but only on the third Wednesday of on months beginning on Thursday
- The LP or natural gas cannot start an ignition sequence and shuts itself off
